The Process | Vivid Auto Kennesaw

Every vehicle that gets a ceramic coating or XPEL paint protection film from us goes through a thorough wash process. This washing process gets rid of any debris or contamination on the paints surface. The Hellcat received paint protection film and a ceramic coating so our process is a slightly different when we are applying each service.

First we performed a Stage 1 Paint Correction to remove swirls, light scratches and minor holograms in the paints surface. Since XPEL will be applied, we wanted to make sure none of these imperfections were on the paints surface because the XPEL will cover them.

Once the Stage 1 Paint Correction was completed, it was time to apply the XPEL Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Film. Each piece is cut out on a plotter using XPEL’s software. The owner of the Hellcat wanted the full front end protected which consisits of the full hood, headlights, mirrors, front bumper and fenders.

Along with the full front end, the owner also wanted to further the protection from potential road debris by adding, both doors, rear quarters and pillars.

Now that the XPEL Ultimate Plus paint protection film has been applied, we then ceramic coated the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Yes you can coat on top of the XPEL! The ceramic coating applied to the paint protection film will give it a slightly glossier finish and give the film hydrophobic properties just like the coating does when applied to paint.
